Come To The Sea....

Greetings Friends,

This beautiful day in Southern Indiana has produced another WIP finish.

I started this piece in Myrtle Beach last October.  My dear friend Michele was stitching this and I fell in love with the idea of stitching this piece while actually at the beach.  Michele was kind enough to loan me some of the WDW's she was using and the rest is history.
Thanks Michele!

I finished this design into a quilt square and love how it turned out.
I will probably finish more designs this way in the future.  This piece will always remind me of the great week spent with friends in Myrtle Beach.  I personalized the piece with 2011, DA (my initials) and MB (Myrtle Beach).  I'm starting to get a little better at stepping outside the pattern to make it personal.

Thank you for stopping by and your kind comments on my last finish.
Wherever your journey takes you this weekend I hope it leaves time for stitching.

Happy Father's Day to all!

Keep on stitchin'
Nan

I've always liked that design even though we're nowhere near water. Your finish is beautiful. How do you plan to use it - a hanging, turn several into a quilt someday, ??? Whatever you do, it's a lovely reminder of your trip.

Its just perfect Nan!! And, I love the idea of the quilt square...I seem to be doing more and more of that lately....Knowing you made it a momento of Myrtle Beach makes it even more special.... You're on a roll with all this wonderful stitching....Keep up the great work my friend!!

What a beautiful finish! How about doing one for each year to make a PALS memory quilt (or wall hanging). This may be what I do this year - will y'all be there? Hope so!

Love your blog banner, Nan!
Your latest WIP finish looks wonderful - everything is just perfect; the floss color, the overdyed linen and the finishing fabric. Wow, oh wow!

Did you follow any special tutorial for the quilt square finishing? I was planning to finish Deep Peace (by Forget-me-nots in stitches) the same way, but I have been to terrified to actually get it started...
