Greetings Friends,

It's official...as of 4:00 p.m. this afternoon I am on Spring Break.  It is supposed to snow Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.  Although I have nothing major planned, I am thoroughly over the cold, snow and wind.  I'm ready to stick my toes in the sand and feel the sun on my face.  I guess the wintry weather will give me an excuse to stay in and stitch.

I didn't realize until I logged in to write this post that I haven't posted in 2013.  Wow!  Where does the time go?
 I've been quite busy stitching.

Take a look at this monster...

I started this deer piece about ten years ago for my husband.  I quickly grew tired of the confetti stitching and put it down.  Over the course of the last 10 years my hubby would make a reference to it on occasion.  He was extremely surprised when it made it's debut on our anniversary this week.  I love the barn wood frame.  He says he's not sure what he is going to give me a hard time about now that I have completed the deer piece for him.

For some reason, I have been drawn to big pieces lately.
For years I've only stitched small pieces.
Now I'm starting pieces like the Shores of Hawk Run Hollow.

 I am also keeping up with Santa's Village.

My friend Karen and I do seasonal exchanges
throughout the year.

For Valentine's Day she sent this lovely package.
The heart is so tiny.  She stitched it over 1.

Here is a pic of the stitched piece I sent her.
I forgot to take a pic of the goodies I sent.

I've also been working on the Spanish Flair piece.
I forgot to take a pic for this post so maybe next time I'll update you on my progress.

Having grown up in an Indiana University household and being a graduate of IU, I am totally excited about the NCAA tournament this year.  I'm sure I'll be glued to the t.v. until the end.  GO IU!

I hope Spring is shaping up in your part of paradise more quickly than it is in Indiana.  As I sit here, still grumbling about the weather, I think the groundhog owes us an explanation.
:-)

Thank you for stopping by to share a bit of your day with me.  I love hearing from you!

Christmas Blessings

Greetings Friends,

It has been a busy week before Christmas.  We had a bit of winter weather on Friday morning which cancelled school.  I ran into several parents who said their kids cried when they found out school was cancelled.  Of course, Christmas parties were scheduled for Friday.

It has also been a busy week for deliveries.  Edgar was my exchange partner this year in the Friends Stitching Through the Seasons exchange.  Here is a snap of what he sent.  I apologize if my pictures are missing a few items.  I dismantled the box before I got pictures.  :-)  Thanks for a great year of packages Edgar.

Here is a pictures of the stitched piece I sent my partner Michelle.
I didn't get a pic of the other items I sent but I love this little stocking.

Karen and I do several exchanges throughout the year.
She outdid herself with our Christmas exchange.
She stitched the companion ornament to the piece I just finished which you can see here.

The boxes are full of finishing supplies and some yummy chocolate
covered pretzels (which didn't last long).
Thanks Karen!

Below is the piece I stitched for Karen.

Nancy at Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe had a generous month of Christmas giveaways on her blog.  I was the lucky winner one day.  I received this lovely assortment of her hand dyed floss in red.

I love Nancy's floss and trimmings.  You really should check out her site.  She is a pleasure to order from and provides great customer service, not to mention the great products.
Thank you, Nancy!

My friend Michele blessed me with a Christmas package that contained this birdie ornament.
I am all about birds right now and I love this design.
Thank you , Michelle!

Thank you for stopping by and spending a little bit of your day with me.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas,

Holiday Samplings

Christmas Greetings Friends,

I hope this finds you well and in the Christmas spirit.

The weather here is finally cold and I saw a few snow flurries this afternoon.
Although I dislike cold weather I do think it makes it feel a little more like Christmas.

I've been doing a lot of stitching and I'll have lots to share soon.  It seems as though I would rather stitch than finish right now.  I did manage to find a frame for this piece today.
One Christmas finish down....more to come.

Halloween Greetings

BOO!
Happy Halloween Dear Friends,

I love Halloween with all the trimmings.
Ghosts, goblins, jack-o-lanterns, everything Halloween-y.
I have been stitching quite a few Halloween designs and picked
them up from the framers today.

 Sweeping Cobwebs by Prairie Schooler
 The frame for Sweeping Cobwebs is just gorgeous.
It was hard to get a good picture on this dreary day before Halloween.

Trix or Treat by Blackbird Designs

 Her Wicked Best by Primitive Needle.
The fabric really is a very Halloween-y orange.
I haven't shipped this one off to the framer yet and can't wait to do so.

I also picked up a piece unrelated to Halloween.
I started this piece in St. Louis in September and it stitched up very quickly.

 Home Sweet Home by Pineberry Lane

Thank you for stopping by and spending a part of your day with me.
I love to hear from you and share the love of stitching.

I hope Halloween brings you lots of sugar filled children,
cute costumes and a few good frights.

Keep on stitchin,
Nan

October Already?

Greetings Friends,

It is hard to believe October is already here.
Time is flying and I've been in a Halloween mood for stitching.

This weekend brings our city's annual Oktoberfest.  I'm looking forward to the unlimited supply of fried food and catching up with friends I only see visiting the Oktoberfest.

October also  brings one of my favorite holidays.  HALLOWEEN!
I finished BBD's Trix or Treat.  This was a fast, fun stitch.  I think I'll have this one framed.

I also finished Home Sweet Home...

I finally got my Halloween decorations out on the mantle.
 I have a few more stitched pieces to finish for Halloween.
Hopefully I can find my finishing mojo this weekend.

I also found the energy to put away my 4th of July pieces and changed to Fall.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This Fall I participated in a couple of exchanges.
My friend Karen and I did our annual Halloween exchange.
Karen and I did a stitched (but not finished) exchange.
She stitched Holy Sheet over 1!  She also spoiled me with lots of Hallloween goodies.
(I giggle everytime I look at the piece Karen stitched for me....Holy Sheet!  LOL!)
Here are the goodies I sent Karen.
The Halloween bag is from Victoria Motto Sampler.
It is full of Nancy's hand-dyed trim and floss.
If you haven't been by Nancy's blog check her out.
Her trim is awesome and her prices are very reasonable.
I also participated in The Friends Stitching Through the Seasons exchange.
You can see the goodies Edgar sent me in my previous post.
Here is what I sent my partner Michelle.
I hope everyone is having a great Autumn season.
Thank you for stopping by and your sweet comments.
