Santa's Village....FINISHED!

Greetings Friends,
I was overjoyed when I received the call from the framer that
Santa's Village was ready to be picked up.

I rushed in after work and here is what I found...

Santa's Village
Stitched on 40 ct. Tree of Life Linens and called for fibers.
I opted to use only 1 of the buttons.
You can see the reindeer flying in the bottom left corner.

The shiny red frame with the white insert is just perfect.  I am so glad to have this finished, I think it is safe to say I'll be avoiding designs with snowflakes and houses for a while. ;)

Thank you for stopping by.
I enjoy hearing from you and always try to reply to comments if I have an email address.
Many of the comments come with no reply option in the email notification I receive.
I completely understand but want everyone to know I appreciate your sweet comments.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

Snow Day Finishes

Greetings Friends,

I've spent my snow days in a productive manner.  6 ornament finishes.

If you are experiencing this thing called winter, please be safe in your travels.
It has been quite treacherous here the past week.  Lots of stitching time.  I started Quaker Christmas II Songs of the Seasons.  I'm almost done with the first page. :)  I also have my Santa's Village at the framer.  Can't wait to see the finished product.
Thank you for stopping by.
It is so nice to hear from you.

Janet Reid 1835

Happy Friday Friends,

The end of the week brings a finish from the framer.

I thoroughly enjoyed stitching this sampler.  I was a little leery of stitching it on 28 ct. linen with wool fibers.  My official report is I love stitching with wool.  I want to stitch everything on 28 ct. with a wool conversion.  I beg Gentle Arts to make all their colors in wool so I can convert other patterns I want to stitch to wool.
A bit passionate, you say?  If you haven't tried wool I highly recommend it.  I used a shorter length than I normally would with cotton and a bigger needle to cut down on friction but all in all I really didn't notice the wool fraying.  I LOVE WOOL! :)

I hope everyone has a fun filled weekend planned.
Lots of stitching and a trip to JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby for me in the morning.

Monday..... Schmonday

Greetings Friends,

I hope this Monday finds you well.
Mondays are always well, Mondays.  The realization that the weekend is over and my stitching time is limited until the next weekend rolls around.  Monday.....Schmonday!
With all the pieces I have that need to be stitched I don't have time for Mondays or Tuesday or....well you get the picture.

The weekend brought some sad news for a friend.  She lost her 17 year old dog.
All pet lovers out there know how heartbreaking this can be.
I stitched a little memorial for her and plan to give it to her tomorrow.
I hope she will see this and remember all the joy Bootsie gave her over the years.

And not to break the BAP streak....
I received Janet Reid in the mail today.
This sampler caught my eye the minute it was released at market.
The colors in this sampler are unbelievable.
It is also the first time I have stitched with wool fibers.
I think this will receive my attention tonight!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing a part of your day.
I love to hear from you and appreciate your kind words.

Summer Stitching

Greetings Friends,

As summer winds down and school is in full swing, I long for the days of endless stitching and completed projects.  I did a lot of stitching this summer.
I have been working on starting a lot of designs, and well, I've started a lot of designs.  ;)
I did manage to finish 3 frame worthy pieces this summer.
I picked them up from the framer this afternoon.
I am so please with how they turned out.

A Couple of Patriotic Finishes and a Very Bare Tree

Greetings Friends,

I hope this finds everyone well and finding time to stitch.  I have been busy finishing the school year but have found some time to stitch and finish a couple of patriotic designs.  I love stitching for the 4th of July.  I found the wire tree pictured below at a lawn and garden show a couple of weeks ago.  I knew it had to come home with me.  It looks a little bare but I have a few more patriotic designs to finish that will hang proudly on the branches.  I also found some cute patriotic ornaments at Hobby Lobby to help fill in the empty spaces.

I've also been keeping up with my Santa's Village.  I love the piece but am a bit tired of stitching houses.  I'm motivated to keep up with it so hopefully I'll be able to stay on track.

I hope your summer is shaping up to be a good one.  In a few weeks I'm off on a shop hop with a dear friend who will be visiting.  We plan to hit several shops around the Chicago area.  Look out, here we come.  I don't have any other plans this summer besides stitching and getting this house in order.

Thank you for stopping by and your sweet comments.  I love hearing from you and thank you for spending a small slice of your day with me.

Needleworker

Greetings Friends,

Thank you for the kind comments on my last post.  I love hearing from you and appreciate you stopping by. The weather has been crummy this week so I've spent most of my time at home stitching.  We are stuck in a pattern of 2 gorgeous days in the mid 70's and the rest of the week in the 50's with rain.  This coming week will be the same.  That means more stitching time for me.

Today brought a  finish to LHN's Needleworker.
This design stitched up quickly and I loved every X.
We will be off to the framer on Monday.

Greetings Friends,

It's official...as of 4:00 p.m. this afternoon I am on Spring Break.  It is supposed to snow Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.  Although I have nothing major planned, I am thoroughly over the cold, snow and wind.  I'm ready to stick my toes in the sand and feel the sun on my face.  I guess the wintry weather will give me an excuse to stay in and stitch.

I didn't realize until I logged in to write this post that I haven't posted in 2013.  Wow!  Where does the time go?
 I've been quite busy stitching.

Take a look at this monster...

I started this deer piece about ten years ago for my husband.  I quickly grew tired of the confetti stitching and put it down.  Over the course of the last 10 years my hubby would make a reference to it on occasion.  He was extremely surprised when it made it's debut on our anniversary this week.  I love the barn wood frame.  He says he's not sure what he is going to give me a hard time about now that I have completed the deer piece for him.

For some reason, I have been drawn to big pieces lately.
For years I've only stitched small pieces.
Now I'm starting pieces like the Shores of Hawk Run Hollow.

I am also keeping up with Santa's Village.

My friend Karen and I do seasonal exchanges
throughout the year.

For Valentine's Day she sent this lovely package.
The heart is so tiny.  She stitched it over 1.

Here is a pic of the stitched piece I sent her.
I forgot to take a pic of the goodies I sent.

I've also been working on the Spanish Flair piece.
I forgot to take a pic for this post so maybe next time I'll update you on my progress.

Having grown up in an Indiana University household and being a graduate of IU, I am totally excited about the NCAA tournament this year.  I'm sure I'll be glued to the t.v. until the end.  GO IU!

I hope Spring is shaping up in your part of paradise more quickly than it is in Indiana.  As I sit here, still grumbling about the weather, I think the groundhog owes us an explanation.
:-)

Thank you for stopping by to share a bit of your day with me.  I love hearing from you!
