I hope everyone had a safe enjoyable 4th of July. We spent the evening at the race track, which has a spectacular fireworks show.
My framer called and said my pieces were ready to be picked up so I rushed right in and here are the results.
Cinderella Sampler
I have loved this sampler from the first time I saw it. Although I like the finished results, I wish I'd used lighter fabric. The motifs seem to get lost in the fabric. Regardless, it might be one of my favorites I've stitched.
Just in time for the 4th. This one turned out super cute and love the frame.
Now.....to the compliment.
When I go the pick up my pieces at the framer he always unwraps them and shows them to me. I stand there like a kid on Christmas morning anxiously waiting to see them. He opened the Cinderella Sampler, we oooh'd and awww'd over it. He opened Liberty, we oooh'd and awww'd over it. He opened The Birds and the Bees and I'm sure this funny look came over my face. He immediately turned it around so he could see and earnestly asked, is there something wrong with it? I stammered and ummmmm'd a couple of times and then said, "You've framed with the back facing forward." He was mortified and apologized over and over. I assured him it was no problem and he promised to have it ready the next day. As I was telling my husband about this he had the "Yes, honey I'm listening but what?...." look on his face. I tried to explain to him the fact that my back was so nice that he thought it was the front was actually a compliment.
Although I try to be neat I don't obsess over the back of my stitched piece but I thought this was a funny story and one I'm sure to remember for a long time.
Here is the result of the correctly framed Birds and Bees.

I would say that is quite a compliment! I can guarantee my framer would never make that mistake. :)
Love all especially the Liberty. I have had that in my stash for ages and seeing yours makes me want to get it started.
happy stitching...
Such eye candy!!!! I love them all..... And, that IS a compliment~ I'm like Karen; that'll never happen with my framer! But double thumbs up to you!!!
All very pretty pieces.
Yes, that is a compliment.
That will be a memory for as long time, and the framer probably won't forget it also. lol

I am chuckling! Wow! That truly is a compliment. ;)
Love your displays.
Oh what a nice compliment. Seriously, mine are a mess in the back.
Found your blog via the prim stitcher's group. HELLO!!!
What a great compliment by your framer! Love all your patriotic finishes, and your three new framed pieces! Hugs!
Cinderella is beautiful, a really unusual sampler.
I did laugh at your poor framer, I've seen things framed upsidedown before but never back to front!!
I cannot imagine myself stitching so neatly that one could confuse the back with the front. That is indeed a compliment to cherish!
Love all your pretties. Cinderella is my all-time favorite children's story and first movie I ever saw! So a special place in my heart for that one.
Your framed pieces are very pretty! I've looked at that Liberty SO many times...and the frame IS perfect. Yes, quite the compliment, indeed! Well, yeah! I'd leave all those great patriotic from May 'til time for fall/Halloween. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Definitely a compliment only a fellow stitcher would understand. Your framed pieces look beautiful. Love your patriotic displays. Don't blame you for leaving them out.
